Players can also split two cards of equal value and play two hands simultaneously; however, if they split a pair of aces, they can hit only once. The game also gives players the option to double down or double their initial bets.

If players create a hand of 10 cards without going bust or exceeding 21, they are said to have created a 10 Card Charlie, which is the second strongest hand after blackjack.
