Blackjack Classic is Neo Games’ gift to online blackjack players, and since I happen to be one of them, I grabbed the first chance I got to try out Neo Games’ Blackjack Classic. I was happy to find that the game is played just like any other game of standard blackjack, so I did not have to wrestle with any new rules or strategies.
Neo Games’ Blackjack Classic requires 8 decks, so your odds of winning are really good. The number cards from deuces to tens are taken at their face value, the ace can be one or 11 depending on your gaming situation, while all the picture cards are worth 10. The suit is of no importance in Blackjack Classic. Your aim is to beat the dealer.
Here is how you play Blackjack Classic.
• Place your bet and hit the Deal Button Click on Hit, Stand, Double Down, Split, and Insurance whenever you want to make those moves.
• Use the Show Tips feature whenever you need advice.
Eager to get started, I placed my wager and received two face-up cards while only one of the dealer’s cards was visible. I was now free to hit or receive another card as many times as I wished without going bust or without my hand total exceeding 21. All blackjack players know what happens when a blackjack player goes bust—he loses the game. When you are happy with your hand and no longer wish to receive any more cards, you can stand. You can also purchase insurance, split, or double down.
Once you have made all your moves, the dealer turns up his hole card and decides whether to hit or stand. The dealer has to stand on 17, and if your hand turns out to be stronger than the dealers, you will get back your wager. If the dealer’s hand is equal in value to your hand, the outcome is considered to be a push. If you get blackjack or a hand equaling 21, you will receive 1.5x your initial wager. If the dealer gets blackjack, you will lose the game. If the dealer’s face-up card turns out to be a 10, he will immediately check for blackjack.
